YEREVAN. – Hraparak newspaper of Armenia writes: As a result of the protests, has the [Education, Science, Culture and Sports] Ministry revised its approach on some issues? For example, is there a final decision on the History of the Armenian Apostolic Church? We asked Deputy Minister Arevik Anapiosyan. “No. Both I and Mr. [Minister Arayik] Harutyunyan have repeatedly stated that there is no decision, there are discussions.”

Has the approach towards Armenian language-literature and history teaching changed? "No. It is a matter of autonomy for universities, and if our school is not able to provide that important knowledge on Armenian language, literature and Armenian history, it is a separate conversation. We are ready for a comprehensive discussion on this issue as well. However, let's state that what we teach in our universities is a matter to be resolved solely within the framework of general education. But, all the same, we are ready for discussion."

Will you backtrack, “go into reverse,” so to speak, on these two issues? “Depending on which issue—with what reasoning.

The law will be put up for public discussion, and we will try to understand—if the issues are clearly put, the methodology will also be clarified.”
