YEREVAN. – Past newspaper of Armenia writes: On May 31, an inquiry committee was set up in the National Assembly (NA) to investigate the circumstances of the military actions in April 2016. It should be noted that it had been established for a period of six months and was to study and properly investigate on the four-day [war] in April [2016].

Naturally, the six-month term has expired, and it became known yesterday that the issue of extending the term of the committee by another six months is included in the current four-day NA session.

In fact, it turns out that the committee has not achieved any tangible results and has not come up with any "sensational" findings in the past six months.

In this regard, the Past paper has received information that the issue of extending the work of the committee pursues purely political aims, as this is done to create an imitation that they are engaged in very important work and are going to make serious findings.

According to the information, this is mainly done to keep the topic of April [2016 war] and military research on the political agenda, in the public spotlight.
