YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: Yesterday’s meeting of the Speaker of the National Assembly and the OSCE and CoE member states’ ambassadors accredited to Armenia was held in a rather cold atmosphere.

Although [speaker] Ararat Mirzoyan and Ruben Rubinyan [chair of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Relations] presented in detail the situation surrounding the Constitutional Court and tried to win the sympathy of the ambassadors and elicit any positive reaction from them, the latter were quite restrained and sent almost no positive message.

According to reports, this meeting was also the reason why members of the [majority] My Step [faction in parliament] decided to remove from the agenda the drafts of obvious unconstitutional amendments authored by [My Step MP] Vahagn Hovakimyan, whereby an attempt was made to usurp the powers of the Constitutional Court and circumvent the opinion of the Constitutional Court and the President of Armenia during constitutional amendments.
