YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: A number of laws "regulating" mass media have appeared in the circulation in the NA [National Assembly].

There are subtle gaps in the Laws on Audiovisual Media and on Licensing, which have not been voiced yet.

"Before, the field was regulated by the law on mass media, now these people have tried to regulate the field as follows: If a website tries to make a video, it must have a separate license for it issued by the state, which means a monopoly in that area, and the license will be issued to whomever they find convenient, whom they don't, they won't issue, and it is already clear whom they will find convenient. They will posit conditions before the undesirable ones, they will say, 'You are not satisfactory,' and those whom will not issue will not withstand the competition, will be pushed out of the information field," said the NA [National Assembly] source familiar with the nuances of the law.
