YEREVAN. – Past daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: It is no secret that due to the pandemic situation, the current authorities are forced to take new loans to draw the necessary finances.
According to Past newspaper’s information, in addition to the recently announced loans, the authorities are going to take another loan, which should be mainly directed to giving "meat and blood" to a certain part (road construction, agricultural support, etc.) of the budget programs.
Our source informs that it is about around 200 million [US] dollars, which the government is going to take from the Asian [Development] Bank.
Experts state in this regard that on the one hand, it is the current situation that forces to take such steps, but on the other hand, by taking any additional one-dollar new external debt, additional burden is placed on the sustainable development of RA as well as in the matter of future economic development, whereas, at the moment, we [Armenia] already have undesirable indicators of external debt.
