YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: We inquired about the number of [COVID-19] test kits in Armenia at the moment, as, along with the increase in the number of the disease, there have been rumors circulating that people are not being tested for days due to lack of test kits.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) informed us that at the moment there are about 7,000 stored test kits in Armenia. Asked what will happen when they run out, the MoH spokesperson said that the local production of test kits will start before they run out. "But I have to ask [you] to find out from the Institute of Molecular Biology what stage production is at."

Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology, Arsen Arakelyan, told us that the test samples will be given to the MoH Center for Disease Control today or tomorrow.

We also asked Artavazd Vanyan, the head of the MoH Center for Disease Control, how long the testing and submitting a conclusion stage will last. He said that it depends on the number of samples that will be provided to their institute.
