YEREVAN. – Past daily of Armenia writes: There has been a lot of talk lately about FM Ara Aivazian resigning, or being fired, for which the main reason is given that the minister does not become a member of the [ruling] political team, and the Foreign Ministry does not support the team's political course.

Things led to the fact the minister was forced to publicly declare that "no one but himself" has the right to speak on position on foreign policy.

Although the [ruling] political team did not react to this audacity of the Foreign Minister in any way, the ruling corridors have started looking for a new, more obedient [foreign] minister... and it seems that they have found [him].

According to our information, Vladimir Karapetyan, a diplomat who left the ranks of diplomacy at the time, [PM Nikol] Pashinyan's former spokesman, at least he positions himself as such. The latter has taken his future appointment very seriously, as he has been targeting the very Ministry of Foreign Affairs through his media for a long time, opposing the latter to the general position of the government.

Vladimir Karapetyan mentions with great enthusiasm in various circles the friendly relations established between him and a high-ranking Azerbaijani official with whom he is holding—at this phase—a closed dialogue on various issues, bypassing the MFA. So, in case Karapetyan is appointed [FM], the direct dialogue with Azerbaijan, which the MFA speaks against, will already be carried out openly.
