YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: We had written on April 1 that NSS [(National Security Service)] former director Mikayel Hambardzumyan and his colleagues have decided to form a non-governmental organization which will include former NSS employees, high-ranking officers.

The initiative has already been registered; it is called "Union of NSS Reserve Officers" NGO. It also has an office.

Artur Vanetsyan, former director of the NSS, now chairman of the [opposition] Homeland Party, is also a member of the board [of this NGO].

On May 7, they will give a press conference to present their programs and the goals of their activities.

On Saturday, the members of the NGO held a session and elected Hrant Yepiskoposyan [former First Deputy Director of the NSS] as chairman of the board. Mikayel Hambardzumyan explained why Yepiskoposyan. "We are people who respect the military hierarchy, Yepiskoposyan Hrant is a lieutenant general, and, naturally, he should have headed the makeup of the board."
