YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: The Goris [city] office of YVU [the Yerkrapah Volunteers Union] has become the [Syunik Province] seat of the [ruling] Civil Contract [Party] [ahead of the snap parliamentary elections on June 20].

Yesterday, NA [National Assembly] MP Armen Khachatryan was watching [second President] Robert Kocharyan's speech from the balcony of that very office which was [Syunik former governor] Surik Khachatryan's former office, later occupied by the current provincial governor, formerly head of the Syunik branch of YVU Melikset Poghosyan.

Yesterday, on [acting PM] Nikol Pashinyan's order, all the administrative resources were put to a use in Syunik, too. The provincial hall threatened all state institutions—including medical facilities, school principals—that their employees do not go out to the square, go to the meeting with Kocharyan. Otherwise, there would be a "political vendetta."
