YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: SJC [(Supreme Judicial Council0] former [acting] chairman Gagik Jhangiryan was summoned to the RA Investigative Committee and questioned.

Zhoghovurd daily had officially petitioned to the RA Investigative Committee to inquire whether or not former SJC [acting] chairman Gagik Jhangiryan was questioned at the RA Investigative Committee.

In response, the media service of the committee officially informed Zhoghovurd daily: "Mr. G. Jhangiryan was questioned as the witness judicial status at the RA Investigative Committee within the framework of the criminal proceedings launched (…) in connection with the [audio] recording publicized by R. Vardazaryan."

We were not officially told what he told the investigators; however, according to Zhoghovurd daily’s information, he said what he had said on the air of H1 [Public Television].

Let's remind that criminal proceedings have been launched against Gagik Jhangiryan based on the [aforesaid audio] recording publicized by Ruben Vardazaryan, former Chairman of RA Supreme Judicial Council.

Days after that controversial recording and Gagik Jhangiryan's most incomprehensible interview [on the air of H1], it was announced that the latter has health problems and underwent a surgery. It was obvious that Jhangiryan submitted his resignation [from the SJC] under the guise of health problems, causing new mess for the SJC.
