YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, who on Monday sent a response letter to opposition Heritage Party Chairman, former FM Raffi Hovannisian—who is declared runner-up to the winner, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan, as a result of the presidential election that was conducted on February 18, but who claims to be the real winner in the vote and who declared a hunger strike on March 10 at capital city Yerevan’s Liberty Square—tends to meet half way on some of Hovannisian’s demands, but not in the “form” and extent that Heritage’s leader had noted in his own letter, Hraparak daily reports.

“He [that is, Sargsyan] will propose [Hovannisian] to put an end to the opposition movement and to announce about this in the case of assuming some posts. In other words, there will be a unique coalition.

According to our sources, the authorities are prepared give the Sport and Youth Affairs Ministry to [Heritage’s vice-chairman] Armen Martirosyan. The matter of transferring the social welfare and the culture ministries likewise is on the agenda.

As for the power [agencies] and the tax sector, optimists claim that mutually acceptable options and personnel will be discussed for these posts,” Hraparak writes.
