YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan’s official visit to Iran is important in the sense that to what extent it will contribute to the invigoration of the Armenian-Iranian economic initiatives, Hayots Ashkharh daily reported.

“When the Western attitudes changed [positively] towards Iran’s nuclear programs, it seemed that the Armenian-Iranian projects likewise would finally enliven.

“[But] when the West decided to tighten the sanctions against Iran, some financial problems emerged in this country; this also hit relations with Armenia.

“Due to the financial difficulties that have emerged in Iran and several other phenomena, virtually all envisioned [Armenian-Iranian] projects have not only fallen behind the predetermined dates, but they are at a forced stop,” Hayots Ashkharh wrote.
