Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and the other members of the delegation died in a helicopter crash after their visit to East Azarbaijan Province of Iran, reports Mehr.

"The president of Iran and his entourage died in the helicopter accident… The president of our country, Ebrahim Raisi, was martyred as a result of the helicopter crash in the mountainous region in the northwest of Iran. [FM] Hossein Amir-Abdollahian is also among the victims," noted the aforesaid news agency.

In addition to the Iranian president and the FM, East Azerbaijan Province Governor Malek Rahmati, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem, the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to East Azarbaijan Province, the helicopter's crew, and one security officer were in the helicopter.

Earlier, Press TV reported, citing the Iranian Red Crescent, that no survivors were found at the crash site, and the helicopter was completely burned.
