Hamas has approved a ceasefire proposal in the Gaza war put forward by mediators Qatar and Egypt, the Palestinian group said, Al Jazeera reported.

Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas' political bureau, held a telephone conversation with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and Egyptian Intelligence Minister Abbas Kamel and informed them of Hamas' approval of their proposal for a ceasefire agreement.
