Numerous protesters, who have gathered at Northern Avenue in downtown Yerevan, whistled and chanted anti-Armenian-PM slogans at the participants of the international forum of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The police formed a human chain so that these protesters would not obstruct the buses transporting the participants of this forum.

A number of police officers in special gear and tear gas in their hands are guarding the passage from Northern Avenue to the Opera House building.

At 4pm, an event—within the framework of the EBRD international forum—will start at the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, which Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan will also attend.

And at the call of Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the Tavush for the Homeland movement and Primate of the Diocese of Tavush of the Armenian Apostolic Church, a protest demonstration will be held at the courtyard of the Opera House building.

A large number of police forces have been brought to downtown Yerevan.

Numerous police vehicles are parked in the areas adjacent to the Opera House.

Respective footage also shows that the police officers are being handed nightsticks.

The sidewalks of the streets surrounding the opera building have been closed off with metal barriers.

Freedom Square is also surrounded by barriers, where booths and tables are placed within the framework of the expected event.

People are forced to bypass these barriers.
