Iran has blocked the enemy's path in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, Major General Hossein Salami said Tuesday at a ceremony in Tehran marking the 40th day since the death of several Iranian military advisers killed in an Israeli airstrike on the consular section of the Iranian Embassy in Damascus.

"We are expanding the battlefront so that the enemy will disintegrate," Iran's IRGC commander emphasized.

According to the Iranian general, the task of the IRGC Quds Force is "to prevent the enemy from infiltrating the Muslim world."

"By doing so, we protect the national security of our country and the security and dignity of other Muslims," he said.
