Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the Tavush for the Homeland movement and Primate of the Diocese of Tavush of the Armenian Apostolic Church, on Sunday announced that he was going to head to Kirants village of Tavush Monday.

At the moment, a large number of police forces are gathered in Kirants.

"Kirants besieged by the police...," the aforesaid movement wrote on Facebook, and posted several respective photos.

The participants of Tavush for the Homeland movement are heading from Armenian capital Yerevan to Kirants.

On May 15, after a statement by the Armenian foreign ministry and the clarification by the government regarding the border delimitation process in Kirants, the latter’s residents once again blocked the road, met with the governor of Tavush, expressing their disapproval, as the village will be divided, and the houses of several Kirants villagers will pass on to the Azerbaijani side.

Those who have joined the Tavush for the Homeland movement are against the incumbent Armenian authorities’ policy of unilateral concessions to Azerbaijan. In this connection, they are carrying out actions of civil disobedience, especially in the capital Yerevan.
