A delegation of mid-level Israeli officials will travel to Cairo in the coming hours to meet with representatives of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, Reuters reported.

It points out, citing senior Israeli sources, that "mid-level envoys" from the Jewish state will have to assess during preliminary talks in Egypt the movement's readiness to agree to new truce terms formulated by Israel. In the event of a favorable outcome of the meeting, Israel intends to send a high-level delegation. At the same time, the terms of the ceasefire put forward by the Palestinian side, in their current form, the Jewish state found unacceptable, the publication noted.
