Close partner relations between Jerusalem and Baku were strained by an excursion of a group of Israeli women who traveled earlier in picturesque mountains and plains of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, Armenian News-NEWS.am informs.

The Director General of Magma - Travel in the World LTD Menachem Abadi, who became the main reason of Israeli Ambassador’s visit in Baku, explained Israeli portal IzRus all the nuances related to the visit of Israeli tourists to Nagorno-Karabakh.

The trip of Israeli tourists to Karabakh has angered the official Baku, Yedioth Ahronoth reports.

The Ambassador of Israel has even been given a note of protest. The Ambassador Sam Michael Lotem told local media that the trip was of a private nature and did not reflect the official position of Israel.

In his words a special warning has been placed on the website of FM and the tourist have been well informed about the given issue.

“The ambassador did not even ask us not to visit Karabakh, he only wanted to know why we were heading to Karabakh and I told him that it was just tourism,” Menachem Abadi told IzRus.

Abadi said that if there was a ban on such visits, he would never agree on such trips.

“We have not been forbidden to visit Karabakh, and there have been no problems from the part of (official) Israel,” said Abadi.
