YEREVAN. - The leader of Armenian Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian is not going to run as a candidate for president in 2018, he said during his press conference this Monday.

In response to a question about whether he intended to accept the offer of MP from the Armenian National Congress Nikol Pashinyan about creating a shadow government, Hovannisian said that he has not accepted it,

“I respect Nikol Pashinyan. Several years ago, we criticized each other, but all realize that now we are doing everything for our country,” Hovannisian said.

In response to a question about why Raffi Hovannisian’s campaign accuses the government of distributing bribes, and later states that no such facts were found, and why they do not ask for a recount, Hovannisian said that lot of money has been handed out.

“A lot of money has been handed out and that is not a secret, let us not treat each other as fools. This took place, but the people said no. If until March 2, we appeal to the Constitutional Court, it will be the moment of truth for the Constitutional Court,” he added.

Commenting on the protest, organized by students, and writings on Facebook by David Sanasaryan, the former candidate said that he has no team.

“I have no team. If David Sanasaryan wrote something on his page on Facebook, that is his right,” he said.

To the comment about whether or not to believe the information released on his behalf, Hovhannisian stressed, “Only I speak on my behalf.”
