YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia on Thursday approved the work program for Armenia’s joining the Customs Union.

Deputy Economy Minister Karine Minasyan said these activities stem from the results of the Armenian and Russian president’s talk on September 3.     

Several working groups are planned to be set up. And as a result of the activities of these groups, a negotiation package will have to be prepared. 

In addition, the Ministry of Justice is commencing the translation of the relevant agreements.  

To note, following the talks that were held on September 3 in Moscow between Armenian and Russian Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin, Sargsyan had announced that Armenia plans to join the Customs Union and subsequently engage in the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union.
