Turkey’s Minister of Interior Muammer Guler announced that, with the funding by a project agreed upon with the European Union, the country’s borders with Armenia and Iran will be demined.  

Guler also noted that they will apply new technologies to ensure border security, Anadolu news agency of Turkey reports.

The Turkish minister informed that the total budget for the control, upgrading and demining of these boundaries amounts to $105,950,000.   

Turning to the new technologies for border control, Muammer Guler noted that they will make use of thermal and infrared video cameras.
