An Armenian delegation, led by First Deputy Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan, was on a working visit to Iran on Sunday and Monday.

The main objective of this trip was to clarify the agenda of Armenian-Iranian cooperation in the defense sector, and to outline the respective future events.

Tonoyan also met with the Iranian Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan, and his deputy, Brigadier General Firouz Masihpour.

The interlocutors discussed regional and international security issues as well as latest developments with respect to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

In addition, Tonoyan conveyed to Dehghan Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan’s invitation to Armenia. Brigadier General Dehghan accepted the invitation with delight and promised to visit Armenia this year.

The Armenian delegation also paid visits to the Malek-Ashtar University of Technology, Center for Strategic Research, and the ETKA Organization of Iran.

During the talks at these visits, the discussants explored the opportunities for expanding Armenian-Iranian cooperation in military education, and development of collaboration in logistics, especially in supplies.
