A group of residents of Ketuklu village of Azerbaijan’s Gabala district today arrived at Agdam district and tried to cross to the Armenian side. At the moment the 25 villagers were trying to cross the borders with white flags in their hands, the police surrounded them, the local media outlets report, citing the words of the village resident Ramin Ismayilov.

In the latter’s words, the reason behind the protest was the unfair treatment on part of the Nabiyev family.

“The Nabiyevs defamed and illegally arrested our children. Representative of Baku’s “Azerisiq” Gara Nabiyev, Adviser to Azerbaijani Tax Minister Musaver Nabiyev,  representative of the village’s executive authority Ikram Nabiyev have taken our district under their control. They don’t allow us to live. They throw drugs into the houses and cars of the villagers and then order to arrest innocent people. We have enough of it, that’s why we tried to cross to the Armenian side,” Minval.az reports.

According to the information, all 25 residents of the village are currently in the police station of Agdam district. They demand that a representative of the president’s administration listen to their complaint.

The Agdam district police confirmed the fact of the occurrence.
