WARSAW. - The birth of Eastern Partnership was a demand of time, which opened new perspectives for development of EU relations with Eastern partners, said the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan in his speech to the summit of Eastern Partnership in Warsaw on Friday.

“The various challenges facing us in this rapidly changing world concern both the EU and the countries of Eastern Partnership. Armenia appreciates the progress achieved through our cooperation. We want to maintain and deepen this level of progress and are developing an action plan for implementation of activities aimed at creating a deep and comprehensive free trade zone with the EU. We see this process as a further incentive for institutional and fundamental reforms. 2 years ago we invited a group of experts from EU countries with request to assist in the second phase of reforms. Today we are planning to begin one-time large-scale reforms on several fronts. We are committed to consistently continue the implementation of relevant EU standards in terms of economic reforms, good governance, democracy, human rights, and prevalence of law," said Sargsyan in his speech.
