YEREVAN. – The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant is approximately 160 kilometers away from the epicenter area of Turkey’s quake on Sunday. The tremor was also felt in Armenia, and with magnitudes ranging between 3 and 5. 

The earthquake measured 3 at the Plant, there was no damage to it, and there could not have been, since the Plant is calculated to withstand a minimum of 9 magnitude, Ministry of Emergency Situations Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.   

Furthermore, the tremor in Turkey did not cause damage to any settlement, building, or construction in Armenia.  

The Plant’s General Director Gagik Markosyan informed that the quake measured a mere 2-3 magnitude at the Plant, adding the latter is undergoing planned repairs since September 11.
