YEREVAN. – The US dollar’s average exchange rate against the Armenian dram (AMD) was AMD 389.49/$1, at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on Monday, and thus the dollar gained value by 0.15 percent, or by 0.58 points, as compared with the previous trading session.

And this is the dollar’s highest exchange rate so far registered this year at NASDAQ OMX Armenia.   

The total sales were $1.1 million.

Even though the dollar’s exchange rate tends to soar, the Central Bank’s intervention is small.  

Several exchange offices are purchasing the US dollar at a maximum of AMD 388.5/$1, and for the most part it is sold at AMD 391/$1.
