Enhanced security measures are being introduced at Sochi airport. This is stated in the message of the press service of the airport.

"Please note that there will be restrictions on the movement and transportation in hand luggage and onboard aircraft of barbed-cutting objects and devices that can be used to inflict grievous bodily harm," the airport said.

It is noted that in connection with the introduction of new measures, airports have the right to prohibit the carrying in the cabin of the aircraft of the following items: corkscrews, hypodermic needles (unless a medical justification is provided), knitting needles, scissors with a blade length of less than 60 mm, folding (without a lock) traveling, penknives with a blade length of less than 60 mm, mercury tonometers, barometers or mercury manometers.
