Armenian-American police detective will receive $150,000 for claims that he faced on-the-job discrimination and harassment because of his ethnicity, his attorney said.

The jury passed a verdict on Steve Karagiosian’s case on Thursday, Glendale News-Press reports.

“Det. Karagiosian had complained for years and the jury’s verdict should demonstrate to the city that this is a problem that needs to be immediately addressed,” said Karagiosian’s attorney, Solomon Gresen.

Officer Steve Karagiosian filed a complaint saying he had faced ethnic slurs and other forms of harassment by his colleagues.
