The Bergen University in New Jersey opened an exhibition called “Fracture History, Reconstructing Identity: Degrees of Westernization in Armenian Painting and Other Mediums” devoted to the 97th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide perpetrated in Turkey.

Over 300 people, including the permanent representative of Armenia to the UN Garen Nazarian, visited the exhibition. He delivered a speech stating the importance of establishing a wide educational network condemning the Genocide.

Nazarian also said that work on condemning it and fighting against its denial is under the responsibility of the government, media, as well as public and educational agencies. American famous poet of Armenian descent Peter Balakian will deliver a speech in closing reception on Apr. 23.
