The CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) plays a huge role in maintaining peace and stability in the Eurasian territory, CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha stated during a video conference in Moscow.

He stressed that the contemporary international state of affairs is characterized by the challenges and threats which international terror and extremism hurl at the CSTO-member countries.

“The peril of threats, which emanates from the territory of Afghanistan, is not lessening,” Bordyuzha added, Interfax News Agency reports.     

The CSTO countries include Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
