MOSCOW. – Official Moscow is not planning on installing radar stations in Armenia and Transnistria, the Nezavisimaya Gazeta daily of Russia informs, referring to its source at the Russian MOD.   

Instead, the Russian military intends to develop such radar station network within Russia. 

At the same time, the daily ascertained from the circles close to the Russian President that the country plans on installing a radar station in Tiraspol, Moldova, which will be one of official Moscow’s responses to the stationing of a NATO military base in Romania.  

The next phase in the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks is scheduled to be held in Vienna on Wednesday. The Ukrainian, Moldovan, and Romanian authorities believe that one of the talks’ main topics will be the installing of a Russian radar station in Transnistria.
