YEREVAN. – Fifty-six percent of respondents do not believe in holding fair, transparent and free elections in Armenia on the threshold of parliamentary elections, The Gallup Organization Representative Rasa Alisauskiene said at a press conference on Tuesday.

According to her, 36% believes in fair and free elections, 58% will participate in the voting, 30% are likely to participate, while the rest are still hesitating.

Alisauskiene thinks that it may have a negative impact on active participation of the voters, if they do not believe that their vote may change something they will ignore the elections.

The survey showed that 96% gets information about the elections from TV, 31% - from radio, 31% named relatives and friends as a source of information, 25% - internet, 25%- newspapers, 6% - meetings with political activists, 5% - campaign posters. Rasa Alisauskiene stressed that for young people Internet is the main source.

The survey was run by The Gallup Organization along with the Sociological Association of Armenia. The probability of error does not exceed +/- 3.1%.
