YEREVAN. – The International Day for Monuments and Sites was celebrated at the Erebuni History and Reserve Museum with the opening of ‘Archeological Sites of World Heritage’ exhibition in Yerevan on Wednesday.

The exhibition presents 20 archeological sites which are registered in the UNESCO World Heritage list.

The director of the Reserve Museum G. Gyurjyan welcomed the guests and stressed the importance of Armenia’s membership to the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage.

‘Archeological Sites of World Heritage’ exhibition presents archeological sites from Greece, Peru, Hungary, Guatemala, Iran, Tunis, Turkey, Norway, Kazakhstan, Japan, China, Finland, Afghanistan and Germany.

The exhibition will be held until Sept. 1, 2012.
