YEREVAN. – The principal of Yerevan State Linguistic University Suren Zolyan was dismissed from his post on legal grounds, Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan told reporters on Wednesday calling any speculation on this topic unacceptable.

The Minister mentioned that it was important that the University continued to work as usual. He also called the protesting students to study well.

The minister considers the protest action organized on behalf of Suren Zolyan natural.

“I consider it normal as after all those years of his work there certainly are people who got attached to him,” Armen Ashotyan said.

Armen Ashotyan described Suren Zolyan’s behavior as unacceptable.

“I was shocked not because of the fuss about this situation but about the actions and vocabulary the principal adopted,” Armen Ashotyan mentioned stating that the principal made emotional statements which he should have avoided.

To note, on the order of Armenia’s Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, the Principal of Yerevan State Linguistic University after Valery Bryusov, Suren Zloyan, was dismissed from his post.
