Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s statement that Government cannot lobby the Parliament in the Protocols’ ratification is ridiculous, said Head of ARF Dashnaktsutyun Faction Vahan Hovhannisyan.

“The politician heading country’s leading party with the majority of seats makes such statements, that are simply silly,” Hovhannisyan said, adding that Armenian authorities’ best response will be a statement by RA President that he is unable to lobby the Parliament in ratification of the documents. He also demanded that Armenian authorities specify the steps Yerevan will take in case of refusal or protraction of Protocols’ ratification by Turkish Parliament.

“Recently, Deputy Head of RA Presidential Staff Vigen Sargsyan said that Turkey should ratify the documents till January end. I would like to know RA authorities’ next moves if Turkey fails to ratify the Protocols by then,” Hovhannisyan noted.
