YEREVAN. – Armenian capital Yerevan’s Mayor, Taron Margaryan, met with Venice Mayor Giorgio Orsoni, who is in Armenia to attend the celebrations marking Yerevan’s declaration by UNESCO as the 2012 Book Capital of the World.   

Taron Margaryan stressed that Yerevan is open and ready to discuss precise cooperation programs and to hold mutually beneficial collaborative events with Venice, City Hall Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am

“We have quite a wide field for attracting investments in Yerevan and are ready to discuss a variety of programs. In this context, we also expect your assistance, and I am confident that there are broad prospects for partnership between our cities,” Taron Margaryan noted.    

In his turn, Venice Mayor Giorgio Orsoni expressed a conviction that Yerevan and Venice could and should collaborate not solely in the cultural and tourism domain, but in a variety of economic areas, too.

Afterward, Venice Mayor and his wife, accompanied by Mayor Taron Margaryan, toured Yerevan at night. Giorgio Orsoni stressed that he his delighted with Yerevan’s beauty and hospitality.   

Also, Taron Margaryan invited Giorgio Orsoni to Yerevan for another official visit.
