The decision of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to withdraw from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and OPEC+ could lead to division among the countries of the Middle East, reports la Repubblica.

"The decision is based on disagreements with Saudi Arabia and tensions caused by the conflict," the newspaper notes.

It is added that as a result, an increase in oil supply on the world market is possible in the near future, since after leaving OPEC, the UAE will increase its production capacity, not following the restrictions set by this organization.

Reuters had reported Tuesday about the UAE's withdrawal from OPEC and OPEC+. The country's withdrawal from these two organizations is scheduled for Friday. It is noted that this decision was made after a comprehensive review of the UAE's manufacturing policy.
