In parallel with the development of the capabilities of our border troops, we must take the border of Armenia under our supervision, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a press briefing Thursday.
He reminded that Armenia allocates funds to Russian border guards, explaining that in the past there have been cases when Russian partners have raised the issue of increasing payments, since the funds were not sufficient to carry out this works.
“We also calculate that in case of increasing these funds, we can spend them on increasing our border guard capabilities, and gradually, as much as we have the opportunity, the Russian partners will fit into the amount that is not too heavy for us to pay, and we will take supervision of the remaining sections of the border. This is exactly what is stipulated in the agreement,” Pashinyan noted.
