Iran’s military has stepped up efforts to replenish its stockpile of missiles in recent days by removing supplies from underground storage facilities to ensure it can respond quickly if the US resumes military operations, officials familiar with the situation said, NBC News reported.

They noted that Iran is using the current ceasefire with the US to remove missiles and other weapons from underground storage facilities, including those whose entrances were blocked by debris during recent US airstrikes.

According to the sources, the US believes that Iranian authorities want to quickly restore their ability to launch drones and ballistic missiles so that they can strike throughout the Middle East.

In recent days, Iran has only accelerated efforts to withdraw its missiles and some other weapons as the likelihood of a resumption of war grows amid apparently deadlocked talks to end it, the aforesaid officials stressed, noting that even before the start of hostilities, Iran had hidden a large number of ballistic missiles and launch sites underground.
