The administration of US President Donald Trump is increasingly attaching the president’s name and image to US government facilities, programs, and initiatives, NBC News writes.

According to the broadcaster, there are already at least 12 projects and places associated with Trump’s name.

Among them are the renaming of Washington’s Kennedy Center to the “Trump Kennedy Center,” the use of Trump’s name in the title of the United States Institute of Peace, as well as the appearance of his image in the commemorative design of US passports for the country’s 250th anniversary of independence.

In addition, the administration is promoting the “Trump Accounts” initiatives — federal savings accounts for children — and “TrumpRx,” a government prescription drug discount program.

Trump’s name also appears in projects for commemorative coins and new dollar bills, which are expected to feature his signature. Among the initiatives is a proposal to name a new class of military ships the “Trump class.”

According to media reports, portraits of Trump have also begun to be used on passes for US national parks instead of traditional nature images. Large banners bearing his image have appeared on a number of federal buildings in Washington.

A separate proposal under discussion is a large-scale triumphal arch in the US capital for the country’s 250th anniversary, known as the “Arc de Trump” or the “Independence Arch.”

NBC News notes that such large-scale use of the name of a sitting president in government initiatives and symbolism has no modern precedent in the United States.
