The fact that the European Political Community summit is being held in Yerevan for the first time is an important and very strong signal for Armenia. Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic stated this at a press briefing in Yerevan on Monday.

He added that the upcoming EU-Armenia summit in Yerevan is also an important signal for Armenia. According to him, the topics included in the agenda clearly reflect the current global situation and the main topical European issues—be it energy, technological development, migration issues, or other issues.

This is a very positive signal for the host country, as well as for the prime minister of Armenia, Plenkovic noted.

He recalled that earlier Croatia hosted the summit of the group of countries called the Three Seas Initiative, which includes 13 Central and Eastern European member states of the European Union. The Croatian premier explained that this refers to the connection between the Baltic, Black, and Adriatic Seas.

This part of Europe, which is in a sense the eastern and southern wing of the European Union, should strengthen cooperation with other parts of the world. And on this path there are two routes: the Middle Corridor, as well as the India-Middle East-Europe corridor. These two aspects have been very actively discussed in Croatia. The system of transportation of energy, goods, open transit, investments in relevant infrastructure is vital for the development and peace of this part of Europe. This is also important for all the countries of the Caucasus, said Andrej Plenkovic.
