YEREVAN. – The office of Armenia’s Ombudsman has received about 30 complaints about violations during the election campaign, human rights defender Karen Andreasyan told reporters on Saturday.

He stressed that there are few complains which do not reflect the reality and reminded the citizens of privacy.

“We get information, appeal to the law enforcers and then follow the process,” he said.

Among those who had appealed to Ombudsman’s office are candidates Hakob Hakoobyan, Anushavan Nikoghosyan and Gayane Arustamyan, he added.

The election campaign will be held till May 5 - the day prior to elections when campaigning is banned. The parliamentary elections will be held from 8 am to 8 pm on May 6, 2012.
