The UAE National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority issued a warning that its air defense systems are responding to a missile threat, Al Jazeera reports.
This announcement follows a similar warning issued about two hours ago, which was the first of its kind since the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran came into effect.
For its part, the UAE Ministry of Defense said that the country’s air defense systems are currently countering missile strikes and approaching drones from Iran, and the Ministry confirms that the sounds heard in various parts of the country are the result of UAE air defense systems intercepting ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles. “The UAE air defense systems are actively responding to threats involving missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, and the Ministry of Defense states that the sounds heard across the country are the result of ongoing engagements involving missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles,” the country’s defense ministry said in a statement.
