The Armenia-European Union (EU) summit began Tuesday in the Armenian capital, Yerevan.
The summit, attended by the EU leadership as well as EU and Armenian delegations, is being held at the Presidential Palace of Armenia.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa, who had arrived at the summit venue, were welcomed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The national anthems were played by the Armenian military band.
After the official welcoming ceremony, the summit continued in a format closed to the media.
To note, the summit of the European Political Community had kicked off Monday in Yerevan.
