I personally approached and delivered a letter to the French president on behalf of the parents of all missing boys, in which we asked him to mediate to raise the issue of the missing boys with the president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. Liparit Sargsyan, the parent of a missing Armenian soldier, told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am Tuesday.
Sargsyan said that he approached French President Emmanuel Macron's security officers, introduced himself in detail that he was the parent of a missing person, and that he delivered the letter to Macron personally, with his own hand.
"Before receiving the letter, Macron was already aware that I was waiting for him. The security officers had read the letter, photographed it, sent it to the head of security, made sure that the content of the letter was correct. We have high expectations that the letter will yield results," added Liparit Sargsyan.
Macron was handed the letter when he had returned to his hotel after a morning jog in downtown Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.
Emmanuel Macron has arrived in Armenia to attend the 8th summit of the European Political Community in Yerevan. Macron on Tuesday will visit Gyumri, where a concert is also scheduled for the evening.
