The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is one of Armenia’s important partners in the Middle East and Gulf region. Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan stated this during a meeting with the visiting UAE Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, Omran Sharaf, Wednesday.

Also, Khachaturyan noted with satisfaction Sharaf’s participation in the Yerevan Dialogue 2026 international forum in the Armenian capital, and highlighted the UAE's representation, the president’s office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Omran Sharaf, for his part, expressed his gratitude for the reception and the warm hospitality.

The parties emphasized that the UAE is one of Armenia's important partners in the Middle East and the Gulf region. It was noted that cooperation between the two countries is consistently expanding, covering various areas of mutual interest.

The Armenian president emphasized the importance of active cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, and noted with satisfaction the participation of delegations of the two countries in international events being held in Armenia and the UAE, as well as the engagement of Armenian representatives in international expos and sectoral platforms being held in the UAE.

The meeting discussed the development of relations between the countries, and emphasized the effective cooperation formed in recent years and the trends of its continuous expansion in various fields.

Particular attention was paid to the opportunities for deepening cooperation in the digital sphere, especially in developing artificial intelligence, data management, introducing innovative technologies, and promoting scientific and research initiatives.

The development of digital infrastructure, the use of "smart" solutions, and the exchange of experience aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the economy were also underscored.

At the same time, the effective realization of the existing cooperation potential in infrastructure and communications was emphasized as an important direction for further strengthening bilateral relations.
