Armenia has expressed bilateral readiness with Turkey to establish diplomatic relations, as well as bilateral and mutual readiness to fully reopen the border, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated during the Yerevan Dialogue 2026 international forum Wednesday in the Armenian capital.

Mirzoyan explained that an agreement was reached to reopen the border—in the first phase, for citizens of third countries, as well as holders of diplomatic passports.

An excellent dialogue has been established with Turkey. For example, on Tuesday, their representatives signed a memorandum on the joint restoration of the historical Ani Bridge on the border of Turkey and Armenia. Flights have been launched between them, but in general, the border is still closed. At the same time, some agreements are already being implemented, some are in the preparation phase, and some have yet to be implemented, the Armenian FM added.
