Five films by Armenian prominent feature and documentary film director and screenwriter Artavazd Peleshyan will be screened in the “Classics” program of the 79th Cannes Film Festival.

The restored versions of Peleshyan’s films “Earth of People” (1966), “The Beginning” (1967), “We” (1969), “Inhabitants” (1970), and “Seasons of the Year” (1975) will be screened at the event. Peleshyan will personally attend the screenings.

The 79th Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 12-23.

The “Classics” program of Cannes Film Festival has been implemented since 2004. The goal is to present numerous valuable films in restored versions and pay tribute to the representatives of the sector.

In addition, the Cinema Foundation of Armenia announced that with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, it will participate, with a national pavilion, in the Marché du Film - Festival de Cannes film market to be held, from May 12 to 20, within the framework of the 79th Cannes Film Festival.
