The Armenian people have a Plan B. The Strong Armenia party’s prime ministerial candidate, businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan, stated during a press conference Thursday, answering the question about the possible negative results of the upcoming parliamentary elections for his political force.

“What can I do on my own? The Armenian people have all the plans,” Karapetyan noted, emphasizing that he expects an absolute victory in the upcoming elections and is confident in it. According to him, this point of view is based not only on opinion polls, but also on the exceptionally low rating of PM Nikol Pashinyan’s party, which the media is well aware of.

The Strong Armenia party is taking the first step and running in the elections legally, excluding any kind of violation on its part. “But you see all the illegalities being used against us,” Karapetyan noted.

He stated that the incumbent authorities no longer have a choice, since they cannot come to power in Armenia with 25 percent support. “After the elections, I will be the prime minister; let's not discuss meaningless things,” Karapetyan added.

Regarding First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s statement on possible electoral fraud, Karapetyan reminded that Ter-Petrosyan is an experienced politician and, knowing Pashinyan, has certain concerns. “But we will move forward with our own agenda. We do not need to participate in other people's agendas. We are moving towards absolute victory, and we are confident that that day will come, we will receive the winner's mandate and form a government,” Karapetyan stated.

And in response to the question about possible street protests after the elections, he said that currently there is no need to discuss what will happen one or five months after the elections. “Let's focus on the elections, now we need to think about it. Know that we are ready for any step, I cannot say more,” Karapetyan added.
